These were the highest bids in IPL history. Starc, absent from the IPL since 2015, still fetched a record bid from Kolkata Knight Riders. Cummins, the Australian cricket captain, initially had a record bid from Sunrisers Hyderabad, but Starc surpassed it.  Daryl Mitchell joined Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore, making it a significant move for them. Harshal Patel was another pricey pick at Rs 11.75 crore. Rachin Ravindra, a standout from the Cricket World Cup, was picked by CSK for Rs 1.8 crore. However, notable names like Steven Smith, Rilee Rossouw, Karun Nair, and Manish Pandey didn't attract any bids. The auction involved 332 players and aimed to strengthen the 10 IPL teams ahead of the upcoming season.
